Happy New Year and best wishes for much joy in the year ahead! Before closing the book on 2023, I’d like to share an update I received prior to the beginning of this holiday season. I had the surprise pleasure of receiving a note from Heather Fletcher Makris who shared she is enjoying the freedom of retirement, joining the rank of retirees in 2020 after several years as a school nurse.
She currently volunteers in her free time, enjoys travel, having recently completed a trip to Greece with her husband, and celebrated a 24-year reunion with some friends.
As many of us have entered the exciting world of opportunity in retirement, please share your adventures. As we shared the formative years of our college education, let us also share and be inspired by this next chapter in our lives. I trust the experiences and stories will be as colorful ad varied as our college tales of lore.
