Alumnae/i Awards

Russell Sage Alumnae/i Awards

There are three main awards presented annually by the RSC Alumnae/i Association:

  • Outstanding Young Alumnae/i Award
(Aka Marion Hughes Reuss ‘45 Award) was first awarded by the Alumnae/i Association in 1989. The award honors Russell Sage College graduates who have achieved early career accomplishment or service success relatively soon after their graduation. Accomplishments to be considered can include but are not limited to: career field, involvement with professional organizations, artistic or literary achievements, and community service. Past recipients have demonstrated each of the above criteria within the first 15 years from their date of graduation.
  • Alumnae/i of Influence Award
(Formally the Woman of Influence Award) was first awarded by the Alumnae/i Association in 2007. The award honors Russell Sage College graduates who have achieved a high level of success in living out the ideals expressed in the college’s motto: To Be. To Know. To Do. throughout the tenure of their post-graduation years. Each recipient will be recognized for contributing to society and/or their career field in a way that is truly remarkable.
  • The Doris L. Crockett Medal
Named for Dean Doris L. Crockett. She engaged with the college in 1916 as a Dean of the College and was known for her bond with both students and alumnae of the Women’s College to whom she had so endeared herself before her retirement in May 1959. The Crockett Medal was established in her honor and, when appropriate, historically conferred upon an alumna from the Women’s College for her distinguished service.

Unless otherwise specified, all alumnae/i from Russell Sage College are eligible for consideration in each of the three award categories regardless of gender identification, while either attending as a student or as an alumnae/i. We are proud of all of our alumnae/i award recipients. To view past recipients, learn more about these awards, or to nominate someone, click here.
